New Zealand AgResearch CRB Project partners VISIT TO PNGOPRA, DAMI RESEARCH STATION, West New Britain Province.

A research team from AgResearch – New Zealand. visited PNGOPRA Dami from 18th to the 24th of November 2022. The visit was part of the ongoing collaborative project (Pacific Response to Coconut Rhinoceros Beetle) between the Entomology unit at PNGOPRA- Crop Protection and the AgResearch Limited of Lincoln, New Zealand (AgResearch)

The ongoing project aims to Implement integrated pest management IPM with biological control agents against CRB-G in PNG and SI.

The AgResearch team program during the visit included a discussion meeting with PNGOPRA management and the Entomology unit team, Laboratory training, and field trials, especially at the beetle pheromone trapping sites and the fungal biocontrol trial site. This visit provided an excellent opportunity for both teams to discuss further research project prospects.
