Field day in Popondett

Field day is an important avenue for exchange of technical information between oil palm stakeholders (Milling companies, OPIC and PNG OPRA) and the smallholder oil palm growers. Since 2014, more time, money and resources were invested into field days. For Popondetta project, field days went off the radar for some time until it was reintroduced in February 2018 by PNGOPRA. On the 22nd of August 2018, Popondetta had its last field day for the year at Igora division and was attended by the Head of SSR who happened to be in Popondetta for his visit. Total of 84 growers attended the field day. There were 6 stations and were represented by presenters from PNGOPRA, SHA Higaturu, Technical Services Higaturu, Siroga Clinic, OPIC and Nasfund. Topics presented by each stakeholder shown in Table below.
