Identifying opportunities and constraints for rural women’s engagement in small-scale agricultural enterprises in Papua New Guinea (ACIAR Funden: ASEM- 2014-074)

  • The aims of the project are to: i) develop new knowledge of the factors that explain women’s low level of engagement in small-scale agricultural enterprises; ii) identify the processes and pathways that facilitate their move into agribusiness; and iii) pilot/scale out identified pathways for women to move from Tier 2 to Tier 3. The research is conducted among rural women/households and private and public sector organizations across the four main cash crops in PNG where women’s participation rate is high: cocoa, coffee, oil palm and fresh food produce.
