Agriculture Minister Visit Dami Oil Palm Research Station

Papua New Guinea Agriculture and Livestock Minister Hon. John Simon Visited the Oil Palm Industry in West New Britain on Saturday, June 6, 2020. The Minister accompanied by Wewak Open MP Kevin Isifu, State Own Enterprise Minister Hon. Sasindran Muthuvel, West New Britain Governor Francis Galia Maneke, and other delighted dignitaries.

The delegation visited Dami Oil Palm Research Station (OPRS) upon arrival in the Province. Mr Steven Nake, head of Smallholder & Socioeconomic Research with Papua New Guinea Oil Palm Association (PNGOPRA), welcomed the delegation and introduced all Scientists and Researchers.

When meeting with the delegation, Mr Steven Nake explained the research conducted by PNGOPRA while Research Coordinator Dr Manie Light presented the Overview of New Britain Palm Oil Research.

Director of PNGOPRA and group Head of NBPOL Research Mr Cheah See Siang led the delegation to toured the PNGOPRA Plant Pathology and Entomology Labs, before proceeding to the NBPOL Seed Processing Unit.
