The storage of samples and working space for processing soils and oil palm tissue samples have always been of concern, this will be history now. The construction of the storage and working space is in progress (inserted picture) by NBPOL Mosa Construction team. The facility will make space for the current laboratory facility which will have soil physics equipment set up to measure soil water holding capacity of oil palm growing soils in PNG. This soil property is important to know for low rainfall oil palm growing areas. Mr. Stanley Yane (Assistant Agronomist) based at Ramu will do his MPhil at PNG Unitech on the subject starting 2019.
