An improved method of soil sampling training held at Higaturu Oil Palms in Northern Province on the 30th of August 2018.

Dr. Murom Banabas (Head of Agronomy) was involved in training Higaturu Oil Palms TSD and Plantation staff on transect soil sampling method in the field. The soil environment under the palms vary in many soil properties due to different management decisions. For example under the palms one will see weeded circles, frond piles and wheel barrow paths. These zones vary in soil properties and size in terms of area under the palms. Transect soil procedure is a method that captures all these different zones so that analysed results will not be biased.
