Socioeconomic baseline study serves as a foundation to any future work whether social or economic whereby researchers can make reference to or generate trends in terms of livelihood of the smallholder households that the oil palm block supports. Apart from Hoskins and Bialla, very little or no baseline information is available nor documented for the other 3 project sites (Poliamba, Popondetta and Milne Bay).
